About The Children's Support Foundation

The Children's Support Foundation was set up to help donors make gifts of lasting significance to help New York's most vulnerable youth and families through planned giving. The Foundation is a collaboration between two of New York's most well-respected children's charities, The Children's Village and Inwood House, which together serve more than 11,000 young people.

The Beneficiaries

The Children's Support Foundation is a partnership between two leading youth services agencies - Children's Village and Inwood House. The agencies, known for their sound leadership and evidence-based programs, offer a spectrum of services that include child welfare, community-based health services, school-based teen pregnancy and youth leadership programs, young adult support services and specialized maternal health and family support services for pregnant and parenting teens.
  • The Children's Village was founded in 1851 to shelter the homeless immigrant children of New York City's Lower East Side. Today, The Children's Village is a leader in protecting and nurturing some of the most at-risk youth in the New York region, serving more than 1,000 children in residential programs and reaching approximately 6,000 children and their family members in the community each year.
  • Inwood House was established in 1830 to help delinquent and sexually exploited girls rebuild their lives. Today it is a nationally recognized leader and innovator in teen pregnancy prevention, youth development and family support. Through its Maternity Residence and Continuum of Care for pregnant and parenting teens, as well as community and school-based teen pregnancy and AIDS prevention initiatives, Inwood House is dedicated to helping young people become healthy and self-reliant adults. The agency serves 4,000 New York City and New Jersey youth annually.
